Eurology of Dads life (read by myself at his funeral)

"Dad was my best mate, he was a family man, he built close relationships with people everywhere he went in life. Dad was close to his three brothers David, Mark and Stan.

Dad was born in 1956 at Northampton general hospital. He grew up in Semilong In Northampton. He went to school at spencer school where he was more interested in playing football than getting an Education... And he was a decent player.. So he told me!

When Dad left school he done his carpentry apprenticeship with Steele and bray, a company he stayed with for the whole of his working life.

Dads life really began when he met Mum. They met at sands night club in Northampton. Dads chat up line was asking Mum to dance, which is ironic as he always had 2 left feet! Mum and Dad enjoyed 4 years together until the carnage of my sister Lisa and myself came along. Lisa was born in 1982 and then I came along shortly afterwards in 1984.

All Dad ever wanted was the best for his family. He was a grafter. Later on in Dads working life he became a site manager and he was very good at his job. He sometimes made the mistake of coming home and still thinking he was the boss, where Mum would quickly put him right! We had countless family holidays over the years, I'm sure throughout the day stories will come out.

Myself and my Dad were both members at Northampton golf club. Northampton golf club holds a lot of happy memories for us as a family. Me and Dad played golf together many times over the years, Mum and Dad attended the socials together and we all celebrated Lisa's 30 Birthday there in the clubhouse.

Dad was always an optimised, he would draw a positive out of any situation. Dad made the decision to retire at the age of 55 and move here to Spain with Mum and Lisa. Although Dads life was cut short he lived life to the full right to the end.

Dad was the only bloke I knew that could convince you that a pint of beer is better for you than a pint of water, apparently he read it somewhere once!

Dad wouldn't want us to morn his death, he would want us to remember the good times.

Dad was a special friend to a lot of people, a loving husband and a loving Dad and he will be sorely missed"
